The Wurzels Recap
What a day 3rd June was! Our first festival and the first time we have had West Country superstars ‘The Wurzels’ here live and uninterrupted for a sold-out show.
So many of you came along during the day- the BBQ was nonstop for our chefs, pizzas were flying out the doors, and the cider stalls were always bustling. Behind the scenes the butchery department had been hard at work making all six flavours of sausages during the week; this was something we started brainstorming at the beginning of the year, trialing new combinations with customers over the counter. It’s been so fun to see everyone try unorthodox flavours of sausages, these out of the box combinations allowed the festival to be much more exciting and gave people the opportunity to try new things (cliché, we know).
The day flew by in lovely weather and then it was time for Corky to warm up the main stage. His agricultural take on well-known classics went down a storm, especially coupled with the fully stocked bar we had running inside the restaurant. Concertgoers didn’t have very far to go for a drink!
The Wurzels showed us exactly why they’re long-reigning champions of the West Country. They brought their best hits (and Thatchers), and the crowd loved it, we loved it. It was awesome to see after months and months of planning and advertising on the countdown to the big day.
