Have yourself a Local Christmas
Cornish Makers made its debut in the summer, placing a new spotlight upon local craft and its makers. The stunning landscape that surrounds us has long roused and nurtured creative minds; subsequently the county is a honey pot for art and handmade commodities. The markets are a stage on which our home-grown artisans can present their wares to a wider audience. The audience in turn are offered opportunities to purchase unique, customisable items and support the Southwest community simultaneously.
Christmas Cornish Makers was brought together following the success of the previous markets. Its aim again to provide opportunities to local creatives and the community at Christmas time. Every stall has its own distinction. A concoction of colour spread amongst a myriad of clay, jewellery, illustrations and textiles. The personalities behind the products are another exciting aspect of Cornish Makers- visitors can meet and talk to makers directly, understand the process of making the items and the enthusiasm that propels the artist. Stallholders are passionate about their creations and sharing their knowledge.
Following this annum’s success for Cornish Makers, we look forward to building upon the support accumulated during the founding year. Setting our sights towards welcoming both returning and new artisans and attracting more visitors to take advantage of the wonders available on their doorsteps in the new year. Keep your eyes peeled for plenty more markets in 2023!
