Join us for an introductory drawing workshop with Tessa Sulston from the Callington School of Art. If you've always wanted to give it a go, but don't know where to start Tessa will guide you through the basics of drawing in a fun and inclusive environment.
‘Ways of Drawing’ is a structured workshop in learning how to draw, suitable for all abilities. Learn to use soft pencils, graphite sticks and charcoal in a variety of different exercises. We discuss different artists methods of working which will help you in turn to develop your own style.
The sheer enjoyment of creating your own drawings with like minded people and the fun of learning a new skill will surprise you. If you have suffered from old fashioned teaching methods or one who believes that you don’t have the ability, this workshop will change your mind.
The workshop will start at 9.30am with a coffee on arrival followed by 3 hours of guided tuition from Tessa. To finish off your creative morning a delicious lunch in our restaurant is also included.

Tessa is a practising artist who runs Callington School of Art, a local art school and studios where she runs art courses for all abilities. She trained at Hornsey College of Art and taught in London and Oxford before moving to Cornwall in 2006. She exhibits both locally and in London with ’The Society of Women Artists’, in Bath with the ‘Bath Society of Artists’ and in Exeter with the 'South West Academy’. She opens her studio to the public every year in September with the ‘Drawn to the Valley’ artists Open Studios event.
